Engineering

Always an engineer at heart.

I've been fascinated with technology and how things work from a young age. I began programming for the web back in 1997 and have witnessed every major evolution of web technology since — a front-row seat spanning nearly three decades. Over that career my driving question shifted from ‘how can I get the most done’ to ‘how can WE accomplish our vision... in the most effective way’.

Modern web engineering has turned us all into lego builders, standing on the shoulders of giants. The pace of innovation keeps accelerating — and I believe in staying on the bleeding edge while respecting the fundamentals that have stood the test of time.

Core Engineering Values

  • Build for the long term, ship for today.
  • Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.
  • Code is communication — write for the reader.
  • Test everything that matters. Automate what can be automated.
  • Continuously refactor; technical debt is compound interest.
  • Good architecture enables velocity; bad architecture creates drag.

Technology Background

My technology journey spans early HTML/CSS/JavaScript, the PHP and .NET eras, the Node.js revolution, the React ecosystem, and now the AI-augmented development era. I've worked at enterprise scale with Nike (300+ engineers in the cloud), built startup MVPs, and everything in between.

My areas of deep experience include frontend architecture, cloud-native development, API design, micro-frontend patterns, performance optimization, and — most recently — integrating AI throughout the software development lifecycle.
